NRG Health & Safety Protocol

NRG danceProject is committed to the wellbeing of your dancers. We plan on working closely with our venue partners to keep our dancers, families, and staff safe. We are very excited to get back to dancing with you & are implementing procedures and guidelines to be able to offer the safest environment to our attendees. We will continue to closely monitor government policy changes and public health data and will make any updates & changes, as needed. It is important to us everyone is as comfortable as possible while attending. We promote social distancing, although do acknowledge that it will be difficult for dancers to maintain this at all times. We will need your help to make sure we all do our best to encourage frequent hand cleaning and we will do our part to amplify sanitizing of frequently used areas. (This will all be re-evaluated as needed for NRG 2021 Tour)

*We encourage each studio owner & dancer have a “Covid Kit” that includes hand sanitizer, wipes, mask and own water bottle. Use of masks are required for everyone according to venue policies. Temperature monitoring will be done at the door and is mandatory.

Flu-Like / Covid Symptoms : Any attendee that has flu-like symptoms, we ask that you please not attend the event. *As always, we offer a variety of options including a full refund to anyone unable to attend due to the pandemic.

Hand Washing : All attendees should wash their hands multiple times throughout the day. The CDC recommends this as one of the best practices to avoid transmission of the virus.

Face Coverings : Face coverings are mandatory in the classroom, this means not optional and no one will be allowed to take class without a face mask. Face coverings must be worn over the nose and mouth at all times and face shields do not replace face masks. (FYI, for clarification, when required according to local mandates, clear face shield type masks may be worn during competition. (still not in the classroom) Face coverings are required for all attendees while outside of the dance room according to local ordinances & venue requirements. Our entire Production Staff will be wearing masks at all times & Faculty will teach socially distanced, from the stage with a mic & will also be wearing a mask according to local ordinances & venue requirements

Temperature Checks : Faculty & Staff & all dancers will receive temperature checks daily before entering the ballrooms.

Venue Cleanliness : Each hotel and venue has assured us they will have increased cleaning of all surfaces, handrails, elevators, etc. They make a list of all procedures available to all attendees upon request.

Ballroom Doors : All interior doors will be open to reduce touchpoints. Please do not congregate in the openings before & after the event.

Elimination of Water Stations : There will be no water stations in the ballrooms. We ask that attendees please bring personal water bottles to class & keep dance bags small & distanced from one another.

Cashless : This year we will only be accepting credit cards and contactless forms of payment (Apple Pay, etc.)

Limiting Dancer Capacity : We have worked with our venue partners to ensure that we meet acceptable capacity in each ballroom and are well within local government regulations. This will help to give dancers plenty of space to continue practicing good social distancing habits.

Class Observers : NRG will not allow observers/parents in the Ballrooms for Classes until local guidelines allow for expanded capacity. Teachers with a VIP Pass will be allowed, limited social distanced seating will be available. We plan to password livestream the ballrooms, so you may check in and keep track of your dancer.

Dressing Rooms : Dressing room spaces will be expanded to help with social distancing. Studios may have a dedicated Competition time slot. We ask you check with you studio once the number of parents allowed for assisting with costume changes is determined for each venue/studio. *This may vary & will depend on allowed room capacity and current social distancing requirements.

Competition Audience : Seating will be adjusted & will not be traditional theatre seating. Please plan with Studio Directors who will attend & how to keep everyone socially distanced & comfortable. Separate and clearly marked points of entry and exit will be provided. Capacities will be strictly enforced. *This may vary & will depend on allowed room capacity and current social distancing requirements. PINK wristbands will be given to Studio Directors & are required for entry. Once seats are filled & we reach capacity, NO ADDITIONAL AUDIENCE MEMBERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN…NO EXCEPTIONS.

Live Webcast of Competition : To keep crowds at a minimum, we encourage families & friends to download our App & watch our FREE livestreams of competitions.

Awards Sessions : If necessary we will be livestreaming  “NRG Virtual Awards” on the final day of the events. All Competition Awards and Scholarships will be announced via live stream & awarded without physical contact.

Scoring : No scoring deductions will be given for costumes including masks, gloves, or protective equipment during performances.

Stages : Stage floors will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day during classes & for competition. Ballrooms will be cleaned between class sessions as well.

Props :Props will not be allowed to be stored backstage.

As always, please feel free to reach out to Melissa & Laila with any questions or concerns you have. We can’t wait to see you all soon!
