PRODIGY INFO

NRG Prodigy is the most prestigious scholarship awarded at NRG danceProject.  The Prodigy program is made up of an elite group of dancers from all over the country. Dancers registered in the Junior, Teen and Senior rooms are eligible to receive this scholarship and are chosen each city for their versatility, work ethic, leadership, and attitude they show during classes and the NRG auditions. As a Prodigy you receive: 

  • A year-round scholarship valid from the city you win in. After a year, the opportunity to renew or re-audition
  • Perform in the Prodigy numbers in the opening and closing shows at Regionals and National Finals
  • Opportunity to assist the faculty on the NRG stages 
  • Exclusive Prodigy Swag
  • Perform in promo videos 
  • Prodigy only class *Faculty and type of class will vary each city.  
  • Opportunity to compete for National Prodigy at NRG National Finals. 

Prodigy rules and requirements:

  • Your studio must register you for every city you plan to attend at least two (2) weeks in advance –NO EXCEPTIONS
  • If moving age groups, you are required to RE-AUDITION. IE: If you won prodigy as a JR and are moving into Teen you will re-audition with the Teens once your year scholarship expires. 
  • To be eligible for Renewal: You must 1) Remain in the same age group. 2) You must attend at least one (1) additional regional city outside of your home studio within the year of your Prodigy status. If you are not able to do this by the following year when your scholarship expires, you are welcome to re-audition, but will not be eligible for renewal. *NOT ALL DANCERS WILL BE RENEWED
  • You must remain with the studio you won Prodigy with. If you change studios or go “Independent”, you will not be eligible to retain your Prodigy title & must re-audition.
  • You must attend all classes and rehearsals. Failure to do so may lead to Prodigy scholarship being revoked at NRG discretion.

 Redeeming your scholarship:

  • All dancers redeeming any scholarship must be registered by their home studio for every city they attend. If you have any registration questions, please have your studio contact Mlankston@NRGdanceProject.com
